Over the bridge are two solo grunts and 2 squads of enemies attacking 5 squads of Marines. Standing near a burning Warthog on the bridge up ahead are two more Grunts. Once the enemies are destroyed, the 3 Marines join your army. Other players should Ram the Grunt squad to the left. Legendary players will want to drive right through the defensive line and flank the turret so it can't hit you. A little further up, just in front of the broken bridge, is a Ghost, which Forge's Gauss 'Hog will destroy very quickly.Īround the corner, you'll find Tango 33, comprised of 3 Marine squads, under fire from 3 enemy Infantry squads and a turret. Once they're dead, Legendary players should use the one Heal you're allocated, if your 'Hogs are in a bad way. Drop down the cliff to find 2 squads of 8 Grunts which are just ripe for achievement grinding, as well as a 2-man Jackal squad. Up the hill is an Elite on a platform whom you'll make very short work off. Once they're dead, you'll add another 2 'Hogs to your army. All other difficulty players can either Ram to add to the achievement or take them out from anywhere. Legendary players should drive Forge and the other 'Hog straight through the enemy's defensive line to flank them, Ramming the middle group and then targeting the methane tank behind the enemies on the top platform. You'll see 2 Marine squads and two Warthogs pinned down by 4 enemy squads. The next big attack comes after you drop down onto the ice. Across the second bridge will be another 4 Grunts. If you're going for the 'Everything's Better With Bacon' achievement, pull Forge back and use the Gunner 'Hog's ability to Ram them. As you cross the first bridge, you'll see three Grunts. Take out the enemies and you'll add a 'Hog to your army.
There will be four enemy squads attacking a pinned Marine squad and a Warthog. Once you take control of Forge, send him to the first waypoint. Best to do that achievement on Normal or Heroic where you're guaranteed enough time to make the kills. Be careful with friendlies who aren't under your control their Grunt kills do not count towards your achievement or towards your optional objective that spawns the Skull, and will likely cause you to have to restart the level. Make sure to keep him and all of your units constantly on the move this is called kiting and it will make it a lot harder for the enemy to hit you. If you lose the Gauss 'Hog's damage capabilities, you may as well restart the level. For Legendary players, it is CRUCIAL to keep him in his 'Hog. You'll start up with one unit Sergeant Forge in his Gauss Hog. Ram 50 Grunts (Achievement, no objective hint) Find and rescue pinned marines (4 total) They are pretty small on TA, but if you right-click and select 'Open image in new tab' (or whatever your browser's equivalent of that is), they are much bigger and easier to read. If you're going for 100%, you will need to make sure all the Black Boxes are taken, you've popped all the level-specific achievements and that you've finished on Legendary. I will mention this on the Multiplayer page as well, but it is just something to keep in mind.
The something you need to consider before moving on to Multiplayer and Skirmish is that two achievements require all of the Black Boxes before they will unlock and another requires the Black Boxes, all level-specific achievements and all campaign achievements (including difficulty). It will make your Legendary run that much easier when you're not focused on secondary objectives. While my own strategies are a one-run-and-done system, I have to admit that it will be incredibly difficult to obtain par times on Legendary it would be well worth putting in a co-op Heroic run for them, even though you don't have to. Some strategies will not recommend obtaining level achievements, collectibles or par times on Legendary.
